1996 Xantia 1.9TD LX, immobiliser

Post by VUK »

My friend just got 1996 Xantia 1.9TD LX and the problem is that the immobiliser light is allways RED and you cannot enter the code, you can press the buttons but it does not give out any sound or do anything different.
Is there a way we can disable the immobiliser?
Any ideas?

The cause may be either the keypad, or another possibility is the large brown connector inside the O/S/F wing behind the headlight.

Unfortunately it has to be working properly before you can turn it off - wouldn't be much use as an immobiliser otherwise.

With the engine running, lever the keypad up and unplug the connector from behind it. Engine will then start with the key, without needing to enter a code.
