GSF oil?

Post by smashymike »

Just a quick question, what's the best oil to get from GSF for a 95N TD Xantia and do GSF still have their free delivery deal on (i've got an abs sensor to order, may as well roll up with the oil if they do deliver such an item).

Either Total Q5000 Diesel N98002D or Total Q7000 semi synthetic N98002S.
The free carriage applies to the GSF online shop for orders over £25 until 31st December, and yes, the oil is in the Shop.

Jon, what type is the Quartz 7000? Is it a B1 oil or B2?
Mor importantly does GSF carry a B3 Turbo Diesel oil?

GSF have a range of oil, (names escapes me) not a brand that springs to in but in my ZX it was alright. If you go in to your local GSF this stuff is on display.

Quartz 5000D is rated ACEA B2
Quartz 7000 semi synthetic is rated ACEA A3/B3.

I've never noticed the oil I've been using either improving or otherwise the way my car runs.
I did have some Tesco diesel engine oil that was very thin when it came to being changed, so that was the only Tesco oil I bought. I'm on Granville oil these days, but in the past I've used various grades of Comma oil as well as the Tesco semi-synth rubbish.

Can you use the fully synthetic Quartz Q9000 in the TD engine?
