Sphere replacing

Unread post by adzbaby »

I have found some very helpful topics with inof on chaning the rear spheres.
Now I know this is probably a stupid question but everyone only really talks about how hard the buggers are to get off etc. I have got all the info I need to remove the old ones. The one thing I can't find info on is putting the new ones on.
How tight do you need to screw the things back on? Do they auotmatically lock them selves in somehow? Do you just screw them back on hand tight and the re-pressurizing locks em in? Or should you use the tool you used to get it off to re-tighten as tight as you can?
Also whilst I am typing... I understand that you need to set the car back to normal ride height after the new spheres are on. How best can you ensure that all the air is out the system? Is it just a case of doing the Citaerobics? Or should you loosen the Press reg screw to bleed it (engine off) and re tighten and restart the car etc a few times?

Just screw em on hand tight, having made sure theres only one O ring in there, citaerobics should take care of any air in the system.

And place the 'O' ring in the recess. Don't be tempted to put in on the sphere. You've probably already read not to undo the pressure release screw more than one turn.

And don't forget to 'crack' the rear ones with pressure on, to avoid twisting and wrecking the pipes[;)]
Plus-it can't be repeated too often- DON'T risk working under a car supported only by suspension pressure[xx(], use proper stands.
