Really Cool Xantia ( Bloody freezin actually)

Post by Rivendell »

I recently had a new water pump fitted and anti-freeze added, and now the heater doesn't seem to produce much heat. The system has been bled and doesn't seem to have any trapped air, but this was working ok before I had the system drained and the anti-freeze added. The car comes up to normal temp as it did previously, and all the pipes seem to be 'hot'.
Any suggestions ?
Cheers
Phil

Sounds like the system was drained but not flushed.

flush the heater matrix before it realy clogs up. did u bleed it correctly by having a water source nice and high going into header tank?

Another easy way of bleeding it is to get the car up to temperature with the rad cap on, then undo each bleeding cap until water flows. The water pressure forces out the air leaving water behind. When the system cools, top up.
