XANTIA BOOT LIGHT

Post by ACTIVE8 »

Is my car unusual or do other Xantia's have a problem with their boot lights? When opened I can get lucky & sometimes the boot light will come on, but many a time it will not! When it works I am quite pleased to see it working. So please tell me why it's so intermittant. There must be a switch, but where can I find it?

I think it has a tilt switch inside the door...
I found that mine didn't always come on, but shaking the door a little will usually get it to come on when it hasn't.

Thanks for the information, I will now try shaking it, & see what happens.

...or thump the middle of the plastic trim panel on the inside of the tailgate, that always seems to work with mine !
Yes it is a very common problem on Xantias...

Both of my Xantia estates have this problem. I think the tilt switch sticks. Jiggling the tail-gate does the trick.

the switch for the rear door is two pins and a ball bearing, very basic but it works (sometimes).
