How do I change Front Side light in Xantia

Post by Heinz57 »

Ignor Previous post
Can anyone please explain the procedure involved to change a front side light bulb on my xantia (N Reg) as it doesn't appear obvious from looking at the unit.
Thankyou

I don't have a Xantia but if it is like most French cars and the sidelight shines through the headlight unit there will be a pull out holder away from the central headlight connector. (couple of wires connected). You just pull it out and the bulb is exposed and ready to change. I have a link for the fuse set up if it is of any use -http://xantia.rtkmail.ru/sites/electric.htm

Unclip and remove the cover from the back of the light. The sidelight is, roughly, in the centre of lamp assembly. The bulb holder has a bayonet fitting into the main lamp, just turn it anti-clockwise to unclip. The bulb is a small push in affair.

Hmmmmm. I bet they are. I know they are on cycles. But I'm sure they are now used on buses in Birmingham [?]

beezer,
Is this link to some kind of service manual or website on the Internet & if so, any chance you can post the URL to the rest of it?

It looks like it is only the fuse layout. I tried looking elsewhere on the site but it did not allow access.
Addendum... I have accessed the main page but it is all in cyrillics! Any Russian speakers able to translate?
http://xantia.rtkmail.ru/
I can read cyrillics but don't know enough Russian. The page heading is 'Citroen Xantia FAQ' and I have found some interesting stuff there. There is a technical guide downloadable as a .pdf Just scroll down and it is listed in English: http://xantia.rtkmail.ru/articles.asp?m=18
http://xantia.rtkmail.ru/files/citguide.pdf
STOP PRESS... There is a DS Manual there too!
http://www.citroen.mb.ca/tech/DStech/index.html
And a handbook:
http://www.citroen.mb.ca/DManual/Owners ... 53601.html
I will post anything else I can find.
