couple of questions

First: Is the TD zx gearbox the same as the zx 16v?
Second: Does anyone know where i can get a diagram for a zx 16v showing the route of the coolant?

Gearbox is almost certainly NOT the same. Your TD probably pulls about 26 mph in 5th - giving a maximum speed of about 110. The 16 valve probably revs to 6500 rpm but certainly does not do 169 mph. In fact a BX 16 valve is geared about 20 mph per 1000 revs and I think the 8 valve was about 22 or 23. The plain diesel Zx is about 23 mph.
