EGR valve on hdi xsara

Post by drpau »

Will disconnecting the EGR valve on a Xsara HDi result in the engine management light coming on? I remember quite a few rover diesel owners used to do this to give them slightly better performance.
What do you think? Yeah or neh!?[:)]

as long as you just block off or clamp the vaccum pipe & dont disconnect the electrovalve it wont bring the eml on.i dont really think it will do anything for the performance though to be honest.

EGR on an HDi is only operational at idle & light throttle, whenever you need power the EGR valve is shut off by the ECU anyway.
