Hiya All,
Need some advice with regards my 406 Petrol Estate 1997.
There is a clicking noise coming from behind the dash which I realise is coming from the recirc motor not wanting to allow fresh air into the car.
Where is this part located and how easy is it to fix ?
I stood in Halfords searching a Haynes manual but could not find it (im a tightwad) [:)]
Any info on this issue would be much appreciated.
Thanks
406 Clicking Dash

The clicking noise from the the recirc flap motor ive been told isnt the motor at all.
My 405 does it (well i think it does its been doing it so long i dont hear it anymore but my passangers do). Apparently the teeth on the cog that moves the recirc flap get stripped hence the clicking noise. Since ive got fat fingers and theres not much room behind the dash im leaving it till ive got time and im feeling thin to have a go.
I have been told you can buy the same sized gear in some model shops for less then a £1 thats as good/better then the pug fitted one.
Dont know if its the same on the 406? but worth having at look at 1st

guys,
i have a similar problem on my 605. the sound is only there for a minute or so when the car is started and then goes off. can the motor be removed without having to remove the dash?
wouldn't mind having a go at it if it only involes changing a gear like what cavemen said.
thanks in advance.
cheers,
hari
