Further to the ongoing saga of my bulb eating ZX i have today replaced EVERY single exterior bulb with new ones. EVERY last one.
Watch this space to see how long they last and which one blows first - just been to Formby and back and all still working.
I DO NOT BELIEVE IT!
Just been to the Lock Up, a journey of , oooh about 1.2 miles - just past Bamber Bridge nick, where a (friendly) police man shouted me over to infrm me one of my back lights was out......
So that means its lasted about 8 or 9 hours.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!
Match or lighter anybody?
Not an entierly helpful suggestion Bernie!
Cant understand it, earth ok, voltage seems ok - so why are they popping like this?
Currently bidding on an AX...... 42 has got to go.

I can only think Marty, its either overcharging or an earth problem.

Yeah - seconded. It could be a dodgy connection on either the feed or earth side, though - the bulbs don't care which!
If the alternator output went high enough to blow a bulb, you would see it with the headlights getting much brighter.
If you haven't sorted it/exhausted the world's supply of bulbs by the 20th, we'll talk about it.[:)]
Driven to Blackpool and back twice today - only the rear bulb still out at present (and thats cos im too much of a lazy scrote to unscrew the 2 screws holding the lense on)
Looking forward to 20th - wife thinks im a bit tapped in the head now!
