Franklin, yes... It was destined to be I think... I blame Chris570's XM for this. One drive of his and a drive of Will's 2.1 in the past and after having had a close look at the Prestige at DSM the die was somewhat cast...

Chris, my neighbour is busy laying a new block paving drive and has been cutting up paving blocks with an angel grinder since I washed the car. It might have a tad of brick dust all over it... Still, if it rains well tonight...

Well, if you're really lucky, all three but for now the plan is the Activa on saturday and the XM on Sunday...

It's a cracking car that prestige Jim , everything you would really want in a car . The interior is just , well awesome . Once the bodywork issues are sorted you will have yourself a cracker Jim . If only you lived closer I would have offered my services to polish it for you ( after fighting Vince of maybe ) if you need any advice just ask .

Not to worry with the brick dust Jim, im sure both will be pretty dirty before we get there anyway. Ive just given the XM a hoovering and a check over, after a refuel later it will be ready for the trip down.

I wasn't really looking to replace the XM, as the idea was less cars. However, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to own a V6 Xantia, another car I have always wanted to have the experience of.

The interior of the Prestige is what drew me to the car in the first instance, its very difference and quite cool! The paintwork is much better than it was, though the NS still needs a good polishing up. Main thing is its very solid and has no rust to speak of. Im glad its going to the best home

It really is fantastic news, makes complete sense Chris, it maybe only a matter of a few inches but technically you still have cut down on space
I can confirm that it's an excellent car too after being chauffeured around Wales in it

I've just had a picture message from the chap who got me into Citroens (Since he sold his sinker Xantia in 2008 he's been driving Pugs and Volvos), it's a photo of the Pug on his driveway and the back end of a Xantia just poking in at the side of the photo. I'm think I'm just as excited as him, going to have a look at it tomorrow morning

Actally Kev, those inches make a difference ... Once the Tin Snail has been sold a Xantia fits in its spot nicely, the XM is too long!

I am quite liking the idea that I'll have two quite late S1 Xantias, both in fairly unusualy models, they will compliment eachother very nicely

He's had a Xantia before, its my colleague that had the flower power Xantia. He's been threatening to buy another for the last few years but it never happened. I think the lifts in the Xantia and XM have finished it off and the fact that his missus quite liked the Xantia too. I think the old Vauxhall tag line thing sums it up well 'Once bitten, forever smitten'. So many people have sold their Xantias only to find themselves driving around in one again a few years later

It's a '95 and from the photo it looks like an emerald green LX or SX, he's very fond of the XUD Turbo so I'm guessing its a 1.9 TD

I'll really miss the Prestige actually. Ive just been pottering about town in it doing a few messages and topping up with LPG for the trip tomorrow. Its so nice to waft about in and it does draw some looks. As I was walking out of Tesco this evening it stands out a mile in the carpark and its a good looking thing. So I will miss looking at its pointy reflection in shop windows as I drive through town, that very 80s but excellent interior, the running costs on LPG and the space inside.

I am lucky, Im very excited to get to live with yet another of Citroens flagship cars

Xantias are very good cars, I love my Activa and I can't wait to have the V6 and get some use from it. I seem to be becomming a slight automatic fan now, so Im quite interested to see how I get on with the Xantia. I never thought I would get a V6 engined car, but I never thought I would buy an Activa either and that is here to stay.

That's the perfect description Franklin And an S1 V6 I'm sure is liviler and more urgent than the S2. I can't see why but of all the S1s and S2s I've driven it is the case...

Chris, leave the sport button until you've become used to the car out of sport mode as it can induce shock the first time It really does fly in Sport... And also, you can, when you're ready, experience the experience of double-kick-down Floor it in top at say 50mph and hold on!!!! Oh, and enjoy the growl from the exhaust

I've just been out in yours Chris, doing what you did, topping it up with petrol and visiting Tesco. When I got home I re-Lexia'd her and the MAP fault has not re-appeared. I re-initialised the gearbox auto-adaptives and she's changing gear as smooth as the smoothest silk She was smooth before but now even smoother...
