I rue the day I sold my 205 DTurbo with the leaking head gasket. WHY did I not repair it? A fantastically fun car to drive and it was driven... J895 LRPCitroJim wrote: 19 Sep 2020, 18:22 If I had my way, space and money I'd have all the little Citroens right through from the 2CV to the C1 via the LN(A), Visa, AX, Saxo and C1!
A few small Pugs would be in the collection too, that one, a 205 (my all-time favourite Pug) and maybe a 106 too...

I had a 205 DTurbo for a while when I had my 205GTi Roger, it was an awesome little car and went like a scalded cat... I was given it as it was accident damaged and cosmetically very challenged as a result. I sold it for parts...

Strawberry sheltering under her new carport and keeping dry in the rain
I'm absolutely delighted with this new addition to my house, as I'm sure both AXs are too!
The installer did a superb job... All done in about 4 hours.
And in case it snows very heavily, a pair of support poles are supplied and these can also be used if it's required to walk on it for any reason.
It matches the doors, windows and soffits/bargeboards a treat and is almost invisible to the casual passer-by glance... It has already blended in very well.
I now have a nice dry space in which to work outside the garage and in case of very heavy rain, the front and side rails have a specially designed channel to take a curtain...

Not they Steve, just the one installer did the whole lot... I was amazed!

I expected at least two to manhandle the panels.

Yes, me too. Big, burly bloke who knew his job inside-out

He's called Alasdair and was somewhat taken aback I knew how to spell his name properly!

Thanks Matt

I'm absolutely delighted with it. Meant to say earlier, the roof panels are made of GRP rather than the more usual cellular polycarbonate... This increases their strength by a lot and should last a lot longer than polycarbonate. In fact, what looks like uPVC is in fact GRP reinforced with extruded alloy sections.

One of the benefits of a carport is already apparent this morning...
All cars out in the open are covered in dew and condensation needing the windows to be wiped clear before driving off...
Mine under the carport is 100% dry and clear
I'll be interested to see how well it keeps the frost off when it turns colder than it already is this morning...

Should be good for frost unless you get a bit of "freezing fog" drifting in as that'd flow in and condense on surfaces I'd think. Pretty rare though thankfully.

An afterthought inspired by the frost chat, maybe when you get the lights sorted an infra red patio style heater may be a cunning move for winter working!!

That's a good plan Mick
Definitely worth a bit of further consideration

A Facebook memory from today tells me it was two years ago I first set eyes on Bluebell
Feels like I have had her much longer than that...
She looks good in the pics although hiding a lot of mechanical and other problems. I didn't see her until Alasdair had worked his magic on the paintwork...
This is just the first two years and I plan she'll be with me for a very long time yet; a definite keeper
As is Strawberry
