That was a well-worn pump! I once had that happen on a Vauxhall Chavalier...

Fingers crossed all will now be good :)

Hello, Friends!

Well, this,is what my lower timing case cover looks like now! Well, not right now. The old fool's fitted it!
IMG_1427.JPG
He is furious right now. He fitted my timing covers and tried to fit the new serpentine drive belt, only to find it was one for a C5 without air conditioning!! Pity, he'd worked out a way to,peg my powerful belt tensioner. Even worse, he'd put the old belts in the bin which was emptied today so he can't even refit the old, one. Poor Papa! This means I am imprisoned until Wednesday. Phooey!

Hopefully my new coolant will be here tomorrow so,he can at least fill, and bleed my efficient cooling system.

Love

Hello, Friends!

That was a surprise!!

I thought I,would have to,wait for the Postman before Papa, did, anything, else BUT he has painted my offside brake bracket so it is all silver!!

He's also sprayed the caliper but then smeared copper grease on it....

Ah well!

He's promised to paint the other one soon.

Love

Otterchops.

PS. Looking like Tuesday at the earliest for my coolant.

Hello, Friends!

Well, I,am here to,give my Papa pleasure and headaches in equal measure!

A parcel arrived today containing my NEW drive belt! Papa fitted that then my splash guards and bled my coolant. Then we went shopping as a shake down,

I am fully recovered! I am roadworthy and making lots of lovely WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE! sounds! Or is that Papa? Difficult to Tell!

Oh, it is nice to,feel a road beneath my sticky tires again. :bl: :bd: :bl: :bouncy: I missed going out!

Hiya Otterchops,

Those tyres must be really sticky, for you to park on such a cliff!

Happy motoring.

Hello, Friends!!

Oh, that was Papa and his inability to do technology properly!

I had a water leak from my bottom radiator hose that Papa had not quite seated correctly. Sorted now but he wants to know where the wire clip should be aligned? :rofl2:

So you were a bit of a drip then! The clip should be aligned in such a way so that next time it needs any attention it's nice and easy to get to :)

Hello, Friends!

You did make Papa laugh, Unka Jim. He sorted it anyway.

But I thought I was in BIG trouble yesterday. My offside CV joint popped off its driveshaft in the St John Centre car park. Papa tried with my comprehensive socket set but he needed more tools. He went home on the bus and came back with a big socket for my hub nut, a long breaker bar, a ball joint splitter and his BIG hammer then set to in the hottest part of the day. And in full sun. I think he got a touch of heat stroke but my CV joint is properly attached and I roared home happily. Papa is feeling very rough but he has the Hounds to love him better while drinking gallons of water.

Today a lumpy parcel arrived via DHL and it was aircon gas! One can and I now blow cold air again. Just wait for this heatwave to end then I can take my Hounds out again and with my windows closed which helps my fuel consumption and stops Papa from sneezing quite so much. One of these days I reckon he'll blow out my streamlined windscreen with his sneezes! He has hay fever so hates this part of summer. My powerful aircon was something he is very pleased about, I can tell you!

Working on my suntan now in my drive anyway. Papa has promised a shopping trip and some, diesel. All go,here......

Hello, Unka Jim.

I,am,just glad it happened at walking pace. Papa shudders when he thinks of it happening at 60mph......

Yikes! That doesn't bear thinking about!

A trick to help quickly reduce your Papa's temperature is to put his wrist under cold running water (ideally at the pulse point, where the blood vessels are close to the skin). It feels a bit weird as the cold passes up the arm, but within ten minutes Papa would feel quite a bit cooler.

My Mum taught me that trick when I was at school - it helped me cool down many times after playing footy all through lunchtime and needing to stop sweating before going in to afternoon classes! :-D
