Declaring war on the Starlings has only been partially successful.

Even with the spikes they are determined to get back.

I am surprised to see bumble bees still active! This one was quite thankful of a place to rest. It is still there as I make this post.

The seasons have changed for the poor soul. Should be in a nest for the winter by now.

It is possible that the cold has caught him out and he has insufficient energy to fly. Give him some sugared water James and if that is the case he should revive enough to fly back to his nest. It usually works for us when we find bees in the 'dopey' state! :)

Well, he has already left. That position the bees prefer catches the late sun.

An acquaintance up the street. Had to walk up to my son's and was confronted by this.

It has been there a couple of weeks but I didn't have a camera with me. Poor excuse as I live 100 yards away but round the corner.

I had a Christmas card yesterday
I think it was intended more as a thankyou for lending some tools to a newish neighbour, dad of the twin girls.

Gosh  Still quite balmy down this way... When I did my 6AM trip to Tesco this morning it was gorgeously clear and cool but not tremendously cold.. The mist arrived at daybreak and is still lingering...

Been thick fog here for days now.
When I was last out, the route I took took me up to one of the highest points locally and I could see that the valley was full of fog, bright sun overhead. Looked quite fetching but no opportunity to take any pictures, busy motorway, no lay-bys.
