That's all good news then, excellent :) All nearly sorted... The MoT is almost there!

If the smoke clears at red-line you should be OK but play with both the boost and max fuel delivery screws to get it as clean as you can and also do service it (oil/filters etc.)...

Don't tweak the pump again now until the new exhaust is on... Exhausts make a big difference to engine breathing...

That seat mount may need a bit of welding to get a new captive nut in there... Hopefully it'll now be good enough to see a pass...

So, exhaust bits:

Centre section - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331847160655? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Backbox - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172138313378? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Fitting kit - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Xanti ... Swl8NVZH6H although for the 2.0pez, but the bolts and springs etc will be the same

Clamp - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-Xanti ... xygj5Sf7vg

Rubbers - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-Pol ... SwgmJXzbe5

I have just seen this though - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fit-with-CITR ... SwQYZWxNb7 do you reckon that will come with a cat? I got stung by this on the ZX by ordering similar then the pipe from the cat to the backbox turned up...

Is that all I need to completely replace the system from the turbo back?

Given just how much oil is normally present in an XUD inlet tract Paul, it would have to be very excessive to make a lot of blue smoke and this would point to other issues that need attention such as excessive crankcase pressurisation ;)

Indeed, XUDs (or XUs or ES9s in my experience) don't generally wear rings but my advice was general and not specifically aimed exclusively at the XUD ;)

Wonder if it could be relayed across from north wales to oxfordshire in a week via various people along the way... by the time I've thanked everyone and bunged them a drink or two I may as well hit ebay though! Would be fun though...

I've never seen blue smoke from it. White smoke today, and LOTS when the cambelt slipped and threw the pump timing out. And lots of black smoke because that's what the poor car was setup to be like a few years ago (and it is childishly fun, but now I have tweaked my first ever fuel pump screw I might start making it more standard)

One of the previous owners of my car on Autoshite hinted that it's always scraped through the emissions

"The exhaust is a straight through which I don't think helps. It was a pain to get through last year. They put magic potion in it to get it through got it mega hot and then it squeaked through."

I was thinking of running some fuel system cleaner through mine - never smokes but is a bit lumpy recently.
Found this that might be of interest to you.

Redex pre- MOT kit.

Would a tank of fuel and a days outing be cheaper than a new ebay one? That's just the kind of silly things I do lol

How about a courier to transport it? That might be a more economic option...

If I hear you have Paul, I shall come and personally punch you very hard and make sure I do it on a Saturday so that I can then go and take part in the Conwy Parkrun ;)

And just remember I know how to punch properly ;)

As discussed on facebook Paul, I have no wish to make Jim come over and punch you! (as much as I'm sure that in a week's time you'll love nothing more then to be able to get up the farm, even if it's just to do nothing!)

Dont suppose anyone else has an estate their breaking that has a good exhaust within a nice drive do they?
