Classic for under £10K

£1500 for the Range Rover if it isn't rotten doesn't seem bad given that they have always seemed to fetch annoyingly good money. Annoys me because I've always fancied one.

Only if it's a V8 though...and first thing that would happen if that the exhaust would get fiddled with, because I know from prior experience that it can then then make a noise something akin to a 1960s Ferrari...

The listing is here and its for a 3.5V8 EFi Auto 1987 with 87,165 on the clock to be auctioned 19th March 2015 at Athelhampton House, near Dorchester

We will have to wait for a couple of weeks to see how much it goes for.

This "classic" is up for auction tomorrow at Pavillion Gardens Buxton, so shouldn't be too long before the sale results are posted up. In at an estimate of £3,000 to "£4,000.

Anyone care to put a guess down before the sale. Token prize, and bragging rights on offer



It has got grey "velour" seats by the looks of it.

Its got to be less than estimate surely, but there may be someone out there who wants it. I'll risk £1800 as my guess.

Just based on what I've seen some similar stuff change hands for I'd say 2-2500. Possibly a bit more as it's a nice colour and does look absolutely mint. Plus it hasn't just been dragged out of a garage from the looks of the pile of MOTs etc (as is the problem I've had with my Skoda...

No results from the "Maestro" auction posted up yet but within the "results" information from H&H some interesting cars crop up.

From 2010, £3,960 bought this, particularly nice if you like sebring red,

Finished in Metallic Blue with Cream leather upholstery, this particular example is one of the first series cars. As well as a `space age' digital LED dashboard and touch-pad controls, its specification includes automatic transmission and alloy wheels. Forming part of a private Aston Martin and Lagonda collection, `SCM 903' has lain dormant for some time and would therefore benefit from a degree of recommissioning prior to being put back on the road. The vendor informs us that its engine "runs smoothly" but flags up the TV/radio assembly fitted to the rear compartment as "needing attention".

I clearly dont quite have my finger on the pulse of the classic car market yet because the Maestro achieved well in excess of my £1,800 guess.

....and I have come second in a 2-horse race, so well done Zel
