Re: Citroen C5 2.0i 16v auto al4 handbrake problem
A guy from Poland told me a few minutes before that if you update the epb software on a dealer, with diagbox connected to PSA servers, the faults will go away,, does anyone know anything about that?

I'm planning to send my car to a local citroen dealership. Apparently, the previous single owner hadn't sent the car in for some recall items.
Will try and see if they can get the EPB of BSI to be updated and to recognized each other.

Re: Citroen C5 2.0i 16v auto al4 handbrake problem
Sorry for the late update. Had to go for sinus surgery just before leaving car at the dealership.
They tried updating the software version of the BSI but it was already the latest version.
Software update did not work. Then they looked at the connections/ wires, in fact replaced it. Still no communication with ESP or BSI.
They then asked me to fit back the old damaged EPB that first came with the car. Walla, communication established, but the internal mechanicals are broken so I cannot use the old one.
Was quoted rm 7000 for a new original EPB, that's roughly 1400 euros. Nuts!
I told them to out back the clone Chinese EPB.
It so far works as usual. My settings are to remove the EPB option in the config of the BSI, and also remove the EPB ECU as ECUs present.
By doing so, I don't get the parkbrake fault, anti rollback error each time I remove the keys from the ignition.
Nevertheless, if I have to say stop the car at the petrol station and re start the car before 15 minutes has elapsed, I get an ESP/ ASR fault. This does not appear if car is left for 15 minites or longer.
I have however found an easier way to eliminate the ESP / ASR fault from appearing after short stops.
Simply turn on the ignition, and quickly engage drive (D). Somehow by doing so, the fault does not come on.
So now, I can avoid getting the annoying parkbrake fault / anti rollback fault or the ESP/ASR fault at all times

Re: Citroen C5 2.0i 16v auto al4 handbrake problem
Is there a possibility to take the ECU from the old EPB and transfer it to the Chinese clone EPB?

It's what I've been saying all along about these in a few threads - the only times where this appears to be an issue is with non-OEM sourced units.

I know but has anybody actually done it?

And can we confirm (or otherwise) that the ECU on the EPB is fine when the unit is fitted to a 407?

They are no EPBs shown for a 407... as in they never had one, much like the C5 MK II never had one.

In that case I meant the 508. Not having either car I wasn't sure.

I think I've mentioned this before too, the old model 508 has a different part number to the X7. When these are identical parts they will be the same part number.

Yes but we haven't had anybody with a 508 who's fitted a Chinese EPB here though, have we? Nor heard of one in the wider world?

I don't think it's not that difficult to do. Transfer the whole connector and ECU.Paul-R wrote: 16 Nov 2023, 07:57 Is there a possibility to take the ECU from the old EPB and transfer it to the Chinese clone EPB?
I will try to open my old original broken EPB and see is the transfer is diyable. Worst case scenario, just ask an ECU repairer to do the job.

Re: Citroen C5 2.0i 16v auto al4 handbrake problem
Can this be telecoded with diagbox, to reprogram it or to change vehicle type to C5 X7 in order to make it work correctly without errors?
