I just bought today a Xantia 3.0 V6 Exclusive

Not a good idea to rev any engine to 4000 rpm without a load, but.....mine does the same thing and the engine is perfectly smooth under load at the same rpm.

Although I don't know for sure I agree that it is probably slack in the engine mounts as mine has quite a lot of "slack" in the drive train between power on and power off even though visually the mounts look ok.

Another thing to check is the air con compressor! Try turning aircon off and see if it still does it.

On my previous V6 when the aircon was on if you held it at certain rpm with no load there was quite a vibration that went away with the aircon off. One at about 1800 rpm and another at about 3500...

Well. ... might be good news I guess.
I have run the car today for about 30minutes did a lot of citrobics up and down etc... and not a single drop from the hydraulic pump. Could the "leak" ... been trapped LHM from the previous top pipe leak?

However I figured out the heating is not getting hot unless it is 1000rpm or more?... so in idle it is stone cold.
Could this be an airlock? As they have just changed the cambelt/waterpump and put in a fresh coolant ratio.

It could well be an airlock. There are 4 bleed points on the ES9: the top of the radiator, the thermostat housing (top hose), thermostat housing (bottom hose), and the heater hose near the bulkhead.

It was an airlock.
Took it back to the garage and they did open the bleeding points again.
And after that the warm air started flowing nicely

They're a pig to bleed properly. I had nothing but air coming out of the one above the heater matrix hoses until i pumped the rad hose!

Iirc you need a big plastic bottle styled thing to bleed them properly

I replaced the LHM pump (a couple of days ago) with the Xantia part # one mentioned earlier in this thread and it pleases me to say that the problem of very slow pressurizing is now a thing of the past. Thanks for answering my questions, Jim

New year and new ideas So I decided to get the old girl properly looked after.
Do you guys know of a Citroen specialist in Kent so I can take her there and get the pump properly checked or replaced (with a reconditioned one or something like that) So I can stop the very small minor leaking.
If I leave the car at normal height not used for a few days. The pump will seep and run down the alternator outside...
If I have the car all the way lowered no seeping takes place and all bone dry.

I used this Citroen specialist for my 70’s DS (20 years ago) and they worked on my mum's Xantia V6 more recently.
The owner has good knowledge of older cars as well as more modern ones.
