I saw some Under car Trolleys in ALDI this week - £12.99, They can be joined together if needed. 150Kg weight limit each.

Sometimes those short-term offers linger longer in smaller branches OR they end up in a big store that functions as an area clearance centre. Torquay is one such, which I found by chance, the only way, I suspect.

Sometimes the special offer items can hang around for so long the manager gets fed up with them! I bought a second dash cam (that was originally £40) for £15! Mind you, it was about a month since they had been first in store.

Nothing seems to hang around very long in our local Aldi...

Off-topic perhaps but Aldi this week are doing some very delicious chutney in most useful and reusable Kilner-like jars...

I find their food specials very good...

Really? I find Aldi, for the most part (comparatively) expensive & they never have offers & rarely reduce anything!

Thats the first time I've ever heard that said. Some things might be similar in price to other supermarkets, but never classed as expensive.

I often find out of date stuff on the shelves at asda or very near use by dates. You have to check Asdas date very carefully or you end up filling the bin.

Same here...

I have no complaints against Aldi at all. In fact I do most of my grocery shopping there and only venture into Tesco when I need those rare things Aldi don't sell...

Co-Op I find are terrible for flogging stuff near/past it's best before dates... I only ever shop there is desperation... Expensive and poor quality.

As above, I do all my shopping in either Aldi or Lidl and can't complain on price or quality.

We always find that if we shop at our local Sainsbury's the bill is actually surprisingly low - but that's mainly because the Sainsbury's at Chichester specialises in empty shelves so you can never buy all that you wanted

My biggest gripe with Aldi (and probably Lidl is the same) is that their fresh produce (vegetables mainly) quite often doesn't have a "display until" date on. There is a packing date but it's hidden in a supplier code.

I should make it clear that I'm not a slave of dates by any means, I use my nose to tell me what's safe to eat and gleefully buy reduced price short date items. I do object to paying full whack for stuff that's getting towards the end of its shelf life though. It's not unknown to find items that are actually rotting away on the shelves at Aldi.

We do our regular shop at Aldi - my only complaint is that our store shut down for a week or so for a refurb - now they have 4 times as many products, everything has changed location and and it now takes us another half an hour to do the shop!
