Yes but my thread was only stared at the end of 2012 and pertains to one problematic car, Citrojims thread has been going since 2008 and covers many cars and probably more non car chit chat than car stuff

A lot of things have been done to my Activa, so maybe moderators could stick topics together. Chronologically if possible.

But yes, many cars and much off-topic. Yours Simon is one car and very much on-topic so on that basis you beat me long ago!

Here's one for you...

Car on low and you can see drastic increase of bubble flow in the return and suction pipe just a moment before the high pressure regulator ticks (video: 8sec and 53sec). So could it be that the regulator is the source of air ingress? Accumulator sphere was changed about 6 months ago... Getting there. "Bubble diagnostic pipe" is really making things a bit clearer...

Today I made some citaerobics (up, down, up, down, up, driving pos). When put on driving position the car just couldn't settle. The front was just going up and down and I don't know how much time it would take before it could settle, because after abot 3-4min I switched the engine of... And no there is no one behind the steering wheel...

Here is the video:

Curious isn't it...

I can't watch the video on an ipad but its probably just because the front suspension is under stress either due to jacking the wheels off the ground while the suspension was fully up or fully down, or moving the car while fully up or down.

Just leave the ride height at normal and let the car roll forwards or backwards slightly to relieve the stress and it should be fine. All Xantia's do it under the right conditions... ;)

@Mandrake: No moving and no jacking. Just drove home, parked the car and started citaerobics..

Video on Youtube now, if it makes any difference...

Sorry, still can't see the video. Do you have the wheels on full lock by any chance ? That can also cause the height to oscillate up and down as the geometry of the McPherson strut causes a large amount of side thrust to be applied to the stut bearings on full lock causing them to be "sticky" around the mid height position.

Have you tried what I suggested and let the car roll forward or backwards at normal height ? (With the steering straight ahead) That should stop it.

That to me looks like the height corrector is your issue to me.

Clean it all up and really grease it well and start from there as it looks like its sticking, and then releasing once it starts moving so then causes it to drop back down and pass the normal height point and then passes that point in the other direction and the cycle continues....

Wheels arent on full lock simon and id be suprised if that causes it, as ive never managed to do what happens like in the video.

Video seems to work fine me :)
