Once the car is at Richard's I'll make my test bottom pulley available as I'm sure I'll be getting involved with Richard on this one Tim :)

Those solid bottom pulleys as rare as rocking horse poo nowadays and after loosing one piece of rare and expensive test equipment (and something else too  ) following a lend I now won't lend a thing to anyone under any circumstances whatsoever. Once bitten and all that... For that reason I won't let that pulley out of my sight...

Just as a thought,- my 2 litre Xant 16v was running like a bag of bones, till I found out that the inlet manifold gasket was leaking, probably giving an ecu somewhere kittens--over fuelling to compensate. That is why I bought a new electronic throttle body damper and a potentiometer- both of which were not needed- now trying to sell off.

90 Kawa EN 500 A1- was running---now dead again
04 Kawa GPZ 500 E10 -alive and well.

Cambelt and waterpump done plush fresh antifreeze, AND it still runs like a bag of nails  ,

Richard does the offer still stand mate?

Failing that its time to call it a day and park it for good as im not spending anymore money on it. the cost of transportation will be about £100 but as a last ditch attempt I will give it a whirl, but after that I will find it park it someowhere and let it dissolve away which is a shame as LOTS about the car is good.

Thanks Chris

My mate with a trailer will probably only charge me for a couple of pints but thats a good back up plan.

Hi Tim

I have to say I'm not mechanically minded so am not able to offer any advice just to say don't give up, we're all waiting to see what happens to your car, looking at the Midland rally last year is well worth spending the time to get it working correctly :-D and we are all waiting with baited breath this thread to see what happens 8-)

Regards

She is now in the very safe hands of Dickie G and Sir Jim, I waved her off at 4pm today as we headed home as the trailer needed to be back by 6pm. A phone call at 10pm and they are still at it and making progress, guys your Xantia legends! :-D

The towcar was a rather unlikely candidate....a fabulous towcar but got through £70 worth of diesel going there and back today
