Wheels (from donor) refurbished....the original ones (same type/style) are now off getting a higher grade powder coating.

Getting very excited by the handling of this car, I am enjoying its poise and predictability but think I will swap off the Continentals and go back to Michelin Pilots as they have a stiffer side wall and suit the SC.CAR system better reportedly, any comments on that guys ?.

Looking great Al :D

You've convinced me on the clear indicators too, don't think they ever fitted them to an S1!

As far as tyres go you want a stiff sidewall for handling, but at the compromise of ride quality!

No, they weren't but can be retrofitted easily. The S2 clear ones are identical and swap straight over. My S1 Activa has them.

If you haven't already ordered LEDs be cautious. I stuck them in the instruments and switches of my van, then had to change back because they didn't illuminate the entire dials.

Love the wheels and my votes on smokey S1 rear lights with smokey side indicators if they are available.
Stiffer tyres always in a car you want to throw around, increasing the load and speed rating beyond what is specified works for me. I buy V rated rather than H for my Xantia as I prefer the feel and the suspension has plenty of cushioning anyway. I'm annoyed about that actually my favourites on a Xantia are 195/50/15 92V, which is no longer available in any brand I can find.

Those wheels look gorgeous.

My Activa wheels still look like new, they've got a cracking shine to them still but they're just starting to corrode around the valves so I'll need to get them done at some point.

Still trying to decide if I should have mine resprayed to make it factory fresh or just leave it and drive it then when it's peppered in chips have it done.

Looks great from a distance but up close it annoys me!

Thanks chaps.....I did these wheels myself, the good ones as said are off for full "service" and will be powder coated to the correct colour....?? Any one know what the colour code is for Activa wheels ?

I had paint breakdown in various places however mainly in small areas only where there had been damage. The original passive coating under the paint was all OK , about three layers, one black ! so I removed this mainly with a heat gun and home made wooden chisels and scrapers. Some flap wheel work with the Dremel, filler and a good hand sanding. Some slight kerb damage was built up with metal filler.

I used an epoxy primer then silver paint I use for radiators when creating a "polished" look....some Poxhall shade, I buy the base and mix. I topped it with clear with added talc to give a silk finish. I protected it with solid wax then a finishing gel polish

Nah clear ones take years off the car, as well as the mirror caps. My SX with ambers and black mirrors looks as old as it is :(
