A mostly G themed weekend this. We eventually tracked down a Waxoyl applicator gun thing in South Molton's Mole Valley Farmers and modified it for use it cavities, pleased to say that after lots of testing and some modification it makes an absolute mess and gets everywhere I'd like to see that boot floor reinforcing section start rusting from the inside out now
I've also made a start on the welding on the NSR wing. The boot floor lip section is in along with the first section of inner wing with remoulded reinforcing ridge. I'm particularly pleased with the ridge which I made using various bits of metal I found in the offcuts tray, a couple G clamps and a hammer I was too engrossed to take photos while I was making it. I'll make sure I take some before it's all sprayed up.

Well, that inner wing is all welded and sprayed up along with the outer reinforcing bit.

I have photos of the pieces I made up:

Still no photos of the welded in section yet. The car is up on it's other side now waiting for a moment when it's dry, light and I have some spare time to weld in a new section for the floor. The new section is made just needs welding. I also need to crack on and make the section for the OSR inner wing, that only requires spare time and artificial light!
I couldn't do much weekend just gone as I gallivanted off to France again in a bright Yellow Citroen Visa. This week I'm in a classroom in Exeter learning about Implementing SQL Server 2008 R2. I'm so glad I don't have to commute into the city normally I felt like apologising to the XM for all the stopping and starting!

The sunroof in the XM has started leaking rather badly in the recent very heavy rain, I'm not too worried about it as it should be coming off the road at the end of the month so I can look at it properly.

The Xantia needs a couple of jobs before it takes up winter duties at the end of the month. One of the hub lower ball joints needs a new nyloc nut and the aux belt auto tensioner pulley needs replacing. Might need to do the spring too but I'll take it to bits before I decide to buy one.

Shame about the leaky sunroof, I thought the new seal had fixed that. I wonder what is causing it?

I bet your almost looking forward to getting WOR out, you didn't get much chance to use it last time did you?

Now you know how I feel To add to my torture they have just started road works on the main dual carrigeway into Newcaslte, which are on going for the next 18 weeks Thats me getting up half an hour earlier then!

most of the time its blocked drain tubes cause this,

the seal is not a water seal but a draft felt only

The rolling pin and apple core cutter tool is just out of view

The sunroof is another report I need to write up at some point. Drain tubes are clear, blew them through anyway just in case. I replaced the seal visable from the roof of the car and the sealant between the glass and metal carriage. The roof seal actually needs a bit of tweaking as it's so good that the roof doesn't open or close. Must be water getting in somewhere though, I need to check the sunroof again along with the aerial. I'm fairly sure it's the sunroof though as the water is appearing very near the glass and dripping down straight to the headlining.

I haven't used WOR much at all, I think it was only around 3/4 weeks before the XM came out to play.
