Mine was a '56 Cresta. My first diesel conversion, fitted a Perkins 4/99 engine complete kit in 1959. Brilliant fuel consumption dreadful performance.

A couple of days later I heard what I thought was a diesel tractor coming up the street then saw it was the Cherokee.![]()
He'd taken the fine six cylinder petrol engine out and replaced it with a second hand Ford four cylinder diesel engine out of a JCB.
