With a good bit of effort over the weekend it could get done for the rally... I'm trying to persuade dad to take his GSA X1 there so would be nice for another GSA to be there...

It's a 1983 GSA X1 in Rouge Vallelunga Malcolm - pretty special as its 23,000 Miles and 1 Owner from new, also it was in a dry dark barn up until last year since 1985! Still got the original factory plastic cover on the footwell carpet!

Chris's GSA X1 is very good and only required some repair patch's to the outer sills ( no other welding done or required ) but still not quite as good as your dads

There is no excuse for the XM pads Kev, not with the dashboard warning they give you I guess that has sailed through its MOT now?

She's a fairly solid car, one of the reasons I couldn't really turn her down. We'll be making full use of our welding gear home here. She won't be ready for a little while yet, a month or two I would say. I need to finish off this XM sunroof first, after taking the seal off for replacement, the amount of rust In some places it had holed! I took the glass and seal out of the spare one I have, it was better but still pretty rusty. Going to clean up the rust and repaint the affected metalwork before sticking the new seal on (£45 from Citroen, surprisingly reasonable I think) Might well run sealant around the inside of the seal too.

XM has passed with flying colours now

Stratford rally was rather small this year but everyone had great fun. There was a special offer on in Ken's Cafe, 2 for the price of 3 along with a load of other entertaining signs
Anthony's BBQ was also excellent, must have been half 3 before we got to bed

I'm properly taking my time at the moment, I've not done anything to Annabelle this week. The holiday's over and I started back at work Monday which has taken a significant amount of time away from me, but at least it funds the cars and the house deposit fund!

This week I have been mostly sorting out the XM sunroof *goes back inside shed*

I will do a proper update next week. If I copied and pasted my posts from Club XM it wouldn't really make too much sense. In the meantime, these photos show why my sunroof was leaking. To be fair, this is from my spare sunroof which was in slightly better condition (as in it hadn't rotted through in some places )

the usall cause of the tilt??/slide sun roof leaking is the drain tubes become blocked so dont allow the water to escape,
the seal aint a seal against water but just a draft felt

The XM is most certainly not a shed

This is what I was referring to!



I went through and tested the drain tubes, they were all clear, did blow them out anyway just in case. In my case, you could actually see the water coming through between the glass and glass carriage.
