C5X7 2.0 hdi auto just stalled twice. No clue

That was indeed very grotty - as you say, difficult to imagine how that temp sensor could be working correctly, when covered in that much crap!
makes me think I may go and check those on mine...

You should. So far still good. Can't imagine it's all down to this though.

... and it isn't! Stalled at the end of a journey only fault code that comes up is P0401 to do with the egr valve. But this is the fault that comes up ever since I blanked it off and this problem has been occurring prior to that.

This is a Euro4 engine and no EML light comes up when the egr is blanked off

Oh and I've taken note of the mileage (changed to kms while working this out) at the time of stalling and it matches with the fault kms

Other symptoms are: delay in throttle response from stationary. I read once that there is a component in the fuel pump that fails and can cause incorrect fuel pressure. I would have thought this would come up as a fault though..
