The springs set the height, were aftermarket ones used instead of Citroen ? Citroen ones have coloured bands on them to identify the different ones, do you know the colours of the removed springs ? You will need to provide your VIN so the correct ones can be looked up for your car.

Did you use a Citroen dealer to fit the springs and did they use springs supplied by Citroen ? If pattern ones bought against the Citroen part number they could be anything.

No I didnt Citroen do not make springs or shocks for this car now. These are the parts that are now being put on is that correct? We've cross referenced them on the Citroen website

I don't know where you are getting your information, but shocks and struts are still available from Citroen for the 1.6 HDi 92. Your issue is probably incorrect part numbers from aftermarket suppliers as is evident from the photos. Your problem may be that if you have bought them yourself, but they have been fitted by somebody else, you're going to have to pay again to have them removed and the correct ones refitted once you've bought the correct ones.

We do provide a parts info service, but please read the first post here:

If you look on the autodoc website they supply aftermarket springs for the 1.6 hdi Picasso of various lengths from 418 to 439 mm so you can see the importance of getting the right ones. The shock absorbers do not set the height though so you should be able to keep these but the bounce may not be the same as with Citroen parts. If you still have the old springs and they are not broken you could refit them. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/coi ... 10-1-6-hdi
The RA1752 springs seem to be 327 mm long https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/car-par ... 752-detail , fortunately they appear to be low cost springs. Once on the car though the car height will depend on the strength of the springs. The shock absorbers appear to be about £56 each so with about £25 for each spring you appear to have paid around £60 too much in total compared to you quoted price.

You say the shocks don't set the height but the chap who was at the end of this post had success with a change of shocks not springs. It's baffling 😂

Some legs (shocks) can be 3 inches to long which ive found out last year also another finding of mine was and is sometimes the early part of the year for parts can sometimes be different to the later part of the year for some cars.

Well fingers crossed he's fitting them this coming week hopefully. I find it amazing how you can put your reg in and 3 or 4 different sizes can pop up and completely throw you off. This is a common thing to happen with these xsara Picassos from what I can gather online.

Hence why FCF has access to official part numbers for donations of £10. 2 years of exact part numbers for your specific vehicle using your VIN number. There is so much bad info out there, I order springs for a C8 they show up as Corvette, Marc to the rescue with the correct part

I dread to think how much you've spent on the wrong parts, no fault of your own, lots of bad info out there. Hopefully your new parts will fit! Good luck, let us know the outcome pls.
