I've got to admit that the inverted CV Joint bellows is an ingenious solution. And given it seals the valve housing to the cockpit, it's possibly even better than anything I could have put a lot of effort into designing, and then spent a chunk of money getting custom printed. After reading that thread, I gather the gator solves the pinion shaft rust issue, the oversized orings solve the pipework leaking at the valve housing. The only unsolved issue is replacement pipes?

And it seems the new strut has cured all the issues including the vibration during acceleration from the opposite side! Mystery.
