It might hack my 92bhp rocketship and send all my information back to Beijing Paul!!

I would, but persuading a local place to cut the key is impossible at the moment. I only really need the electronic bits. Key works fine, plip works fine, it just eats batteries. A new battery lasts a week, if that.

I also don’t know how to programme a new key (or even the electronics, if I could just swap new ones in from a Chinese key)..

What shape of key is it, Mike? Do you know if the immobiliser chip is on the board or in a separate capsule? If they are separate you might be able to get a key from ebay (or the scrap yard), transfer the CL board over, and get it paired to the C3.

They can, they charge. Before 31st Dec they wanted £80 for a key, cut, programmed and ready to use for the C3 Picasso.

Gone up to £210 now, so I’ll continue unlocking it with the key!
Sometimes it's not what you know but who you know that helps. I am friends with the staff at one branch of Timpsons (I used to work with one guy there, and my brother used to work at that branch). Next time I go past (and when they are open) I can see what they can do for me, if that is of interest, Mike?

That would be most kind. I have the key, the security card and the spare key. As per my other post to Paul, key actually works fine, just kills batteries really quickly!

It’s one of these, removable electronics..

But that little coil in the top left looks like the immobiliser chip, so probably not transferable after it has been coded to a vehicle. Drat!

You can swap your original keyblade over to the new case. It’s just held in by a tiny roll pin that you just punch out.
If you have Diagbox/Lexia & the security code programming a new key is simple.

Mike, you know you have access to my Lexia kit if required. Have you got the security code for the C3?

Does anybody know if the immobiliser chip is separate (possibly in the head of the pivoting part) or if it is on the circuit board?

I’d be happy to programme a new board and use the rest of the old key...
