Re: DS5 Reverse Camera
Hi guys,Smartest_Smarty wrote: 26 Sep 2020, 22:54 Ok, so here’s what I found with my camera (thank you iPhone 11 Pro wide angle lens).
There is one torx screw and 3 clips for the reverse camera to push out.
And the cable connector is not far at all, you can trace it with your hand and reach it to disconnect. No need to have the bumper off at all.
It may well be that this has been simplified on the DS Automobiles DS5 and the Citroen version has to have the rear bumper off. But as it stands for the DS DS5, there is no need to take the bumper off at all. The cable is not all wrapped up in tape, and has a simple connection to the loom.
The display quality of the rear camera 9665480580 of my DS5 (Nov. 2011 first run) was getting badder and badder (and also bugging continuously when the weather gets very hot) so I decided to remove and replace it by the latest version 9812729280 shared by Marc (thanks a lot by the way).
Just found your post Smartest_Smarty which was a bit of help but in order that any other people facing issues with this rear camera do not lose time replacing it, here are some additional instructions I'd like to add :
1. You can lay down underneath the rear bumper (if the car is a bit raised up it is easier of course) and access the camera with one hand
2. Once you reached it, it can be easily pushed out only by pressing the 3 clips circled in yellow color on below picture (NO NEED TO REMOVE THE TORX SCREW), the other hand pushing the camera from the outside to the inside of the bumper : 3. Then you need to cut out the 2 collars that maintain the cable of the camera (@Marc could you please try to find and share the part number of these collars ? I wasn't able to find it on the web)
4. Slide the connectors from the right to the left to unattach them from the bumper : 5. Disconnect the connectors with your finger or better with a driver to unlock them : These connectors were so hard to disconnect, I don't really know how I did it with my driver but I think it was like I described it on above 5. picture.
If anyone can confirm it would be nice.
