I can't wait! Ink printer cartridges with artificial intelligence - another way to get you to buy originals. Should be illegal as I'm sure iit's against the anti-competitive rules!

HP (and other printer companies) try to make their inks as high quality as possible. I have seen some toner powder (supplied by a remanufacturing company) that (compared to proper toner) is like gravel compared to talcum powder. HP (years ago) came up with RET inkjet and laser printers (Resolution Enhancement Technology) where the nozzles had two different sizes. The normal nozzles would produce standard 'dots' of ink, touching each other (but not overlapping). The RET nozzles (which are smaller) would then fire a much smaller dot into the 'white' space, filling it (OK, there was still 'white' space, but far less), and the RET would also be used to help produce lines with a smoother shape. However, for this to work, the ink has to be of a high and consistent standard. Remanufacturers cannot do that.

I do NOT work for Hewlett Packard (however, I do work for Ricoh, but in the Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) side of the company, looking after clients and their shops).

I can't abide inkjets in any form. We've always used colour lasers at work and now we have one at home too. The amount of ink cartridges we've thrown out over the years that have become clogged unless you use them every day is beyond a joke.

As I was checking the diagrams I was tracing the cables from F9 and then stumbled across this on the net. Actually I think the same info is on this site somewhere. "6030: one touch electric window control unit.
6031: passenger's one touch front electric window motor + control unit." The only other feed I can see is XC2A/B from F4, so something else to look at.
Whatever happened to a fuse a wire and a switch? obviously too simple. :-D

Well spotted, I put just about all the codes on the Forum Wiki as it saves me repeating all the codes on each post Dave.

100% Totally agreed... I detest inkjets and won't have one in the house... I've had laser printers for years now... Both my monochrome and colour ones are vintage now - well in excess of ten years old but still going strong!

Dave, hope all is soon sorted on the electrical front and that you can attend the meet...

+1 for laser printers and...
-1 for inkjets. Nasty devices if left unused for a while - such as over the school summer holidays for instance.

Ah well best laid plans and all that. I honestly thought there would be a plug and socket arrangement 'twixt door and A pillar where I could check the pinouts. Unfortunately there is just a corrugated rubber tube with the cables inside. I can only think that my mysterious "interconnection" is inside the door so tomorrow weather permitting I'll remove the doorcard and see if I have power.

Those rubber protectors should just pop out so you can see if there is a break with one of the wires.

Thanks Marc but wifey has bestowed permission for further investigation to continue tomorrow. [emoji3] Shopping first doorcard after.

An interesting day. I took the drivers door card off and found the cables disconnected. I reconnected them and the driver's mirror worked. However the passenger door mirror was still dead and the temperature display was still blank, so off with the other card and two connectors off that side as well. All back together now and working apart from the passenger mirror not folding out but folding in ok. But I noticed the cover is not fitted correctly. Causing an obstruction? Maybe. I'm not sure how it comes off, will check.ImageImage

That's bizarrely odd Dave...

Those connectors don't just come apart on their own...

even if one did I can't imagine all four disconnecting themselves.
Suspicious!
