I would add Torx bits going up past T50, as there are several things that use larger Torx bolts. T55 comes to mind, but I cannot remember what used it.

Yup need one to undo the rear torque arm to remove the trailing arm so I could replace the bearings. A 4lb club hammer is always useful as is a rawhide mallet. Biggest most useful tool I've needed on my C5 is a set of wheel ramps. Essential for engine/gearbox oil changes, replacing the engine undertray, checking and lubing the handbrake linkage on the front calipers etc as crawling under the car even with the suspension on 'high' is tricky and it gives decent clearance for 1/2 inch socket driver without the handle hitting the road.

Adjustable spanners have their place (and no, it is not in the bin when used properly). This isn't a car tool, but in my job it is one of the most useful tools in my arsenal;

Purely due to Citroen, I invested a few quid in what I call "clic-clip" pliers for all those awkward hose clips PSA seem to love. Similar this tool shown here


I know most of you prefer to instead exchange the clips for more common types but I don't regret buying this tool, quick and easy.

The ultimate Citroen special tool is the block of wood you get with a 2CV/Dyane. Intended as a wheel chock so the thing didn't roll off the jack, it could be wedged between chassis and suspension arm to stop the latter flopping about when working on brake and the like, it can 'adjust' dented wings, it can level your cooker on camping trips so your fried egg stays in the middle of the pan, it can hammer your tent pegs in, it keeps your coffee cup off the ground, and if held loosely in one hand and played with the handle end of a screwdriver is a passable percussion instrument.

My X7 comes with a metal fold up wheel chock....times move on gents |:)

BUT, I still have the wooden chock my Dad cut from a block of Mahogany a LONG time ago....that lives in the car as well and gets more use !

my stepdads got a set similar to this



which work really well for those clips. no doubt the proper tool works better, but i've not been bested yet when using these unless i'm stuck for room to move!
