Re: Unusual Tyre Wear C5 X7
Well, just had them fitted and on the drive back home - Wow! Really noticed how quiet these were immediately. They are rated at 69dB for noise, have an 'A' for wet grip and 'B' for Fuel efficiency. Well Michelin say they are suited to a whole years' motoring. Well as I usually don't get a year out of the fronts anyway - it will be interesting to see how they wear. As far as wet performance goes they just soared through the flooded roads on the way back without flinching. Time will tell though!vborovic wrote:I'll still stick to having a summer + winter combination of tyres (but one set of rims) ... I've read some comments on the CrossClimates, that they add to the fuel consumption (roughly 0,5 l/100 km) and that they're a bit louder that other tyres, but it has to have some drawbacks if it does the winter&summer job in a single product ...

I'm guessing you have 17" wheels?

Yes, those are the babies, I've heard the 18 / 19" wheels are worse noise-wise.vborovic wrote:I'm guessing you have 17" wheels?

Here we don't have CrossClimate's on offer for larger wheel sizes (Good Years' All Seasons go up to 18" and that's about it) ... I'm of course already considering the new dimension tyres for my car ...

Re: Unusual Tyre Wear C5 X7
Looks like they are introducing some 18 and 19" sizes in 2016 according to this article and test: got to be better than changing from summer to winter to summer all the time, with all the valves and balancing again!vborovic wrote:Here we don't have CrossClimate's on offer for larger wheel sizes (Good Years' All Seasons go up to 18" and that's about it) ... Re: Unusual Tyre Wear C5 X7
I rather like the "balancing act" every now and then, gives you a better picture of the condition of your rims (which might be bent or something, that you just grow accustomed to over time, making the tyre wear more quickly)

Re: Unusual Tyre Wear C5 X7
I put vrediestein all season tyres on to the front of the 107. In the dry they are good, in the wet, and i mean wet up here the last week, they are phenomenal! I've never lost grip with them yet. The 205 on the other hand with budget summers is like driving on an ice rink, slides all over the place. It's good fun though, and at very slow speeds.

Re: Unusual Tyre Wear C5 X7
Definitely feels a lot lighter. Wasn't sure at first whether it was just that my previous tyres were nearly on the bar, but does feel very light and much quieter too.

Re: Unusual Tyre Wear C5 X7
Today in the wet I needed to pull out quick. So left time to allow for wheel spin.
There wasn't any!
All other tyres I would lose grip. In the dry. Not these. I want more.
