I asked because I remember my Mk1 needed a handbrake cable and front pads for an MOT. It was done at a small local garage for a ridiculously meagre price (at the time) with no fuss or bother. The owner phoned me at work to authorise the work, got the parts and phoned me about 3-4 hours later to come and pick up the car.
