Reverse bleepers are, I believe, a legal requirement. It is to prove the integrity of the trailer indicators. Inbuilt car indicators must have an integrity check - the reason they flash twice as fast if a bulb has failed. Don't remove the bleeper. It should only sound with a trailer or trailer lighting board attached.

You might argue as to why no other lights have such a check but the trailer tail lights are made as failsafe as possible by lighting each side from a separate feed.

You can also have a light on the dash that only flashes when the trailer flashers are functional.

British Leyland cars of the 80s had a warning light in the instrument cluster that lit up and showed a caravan legend for that very purpose.

No dash lamp Jim...

Half of the bulbs have blown anyway :).....another "To Do" job I have been putting off due to your horror stories of the speedo retaining clip, need to replace the speedo cable, fix the Rev counter etc...

No, I'm not aware any Citroens ever had them and I've only seen them as OE in BL cars of the 80s as said upthread.

That said, there's loads of unused warning lights in a Xantia instrument panel you could repurpose...

But then again, I fully appreciate your reluctance to dive in behind there... That speedo cable is a right 'mare I tell you - from painful past experience.

Almost as bad as the speedo cable on Daffodil when pulling hr instrument pod out

Dug the Lawn Mower out today..needed some easy start to get it going but once fired it was fine on last summers fuel (99 Tesco Momentum)....no rotten rubber tube :)....and P-O-W-E-E-E-R

BUT....there is always :)

A mouse has eaten through the drive belt....so I pushed the bu&&er up and down the lawn, a good workout on a sunny day...
Amazon guarantee a delivery of a new belt tomorrow (I bet they don't !)

An excellent whole-body workout that :) It'll target all the important muscle groups and be good for your cardio-vascular system too. Given the benefits, I'd not be in any hurry to fit a new belt so if Amazon fail to deliver tomorrow it's not a problem ;)

Biggest problem was having to use both hands to push it, I could not have my normal fag, which I can use one hand/self-propelled :)

Get a couple of goats Alasdair. They eat anything and will keep your entire garden tidy.

And when they are past their best, you can make a curry out of them ;) And if you have a small flock, a good supply of milk.

I was brought up on goat's milk. I still like it for a little treat now; it has quite a nutty flavour - that might go a way to accounting for what I'm like

Dad kept a small flock of goats when I was little as I was unable to tolerate cow's milk as a baby. I can just remember them.

No problem with cow's milk now - I get through loads of it; mainly in coffees of various sorts :)
