Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
There's only one other thing I can thing off and that is to do a BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure. Powering the vehicle down (and by default the BSI) will remove all power from the unit and waiting perhaps 20 minutes will ensure the memory is completely cleared.
Failing return of the controls, it will likely need sending off for repair, as this may be indicative of the unit failing itself. I've not heard yet of the controls on these units failing - just the menu options missing key items as a result of the configuration loss.

You can, but just be aware that if after upgrading there are any issues, the CD can become stuck if the unit can't boot up afterwards. But hopefully this won't happen...

I might wait and order one of these stand alone USB leads, and see if they work with my unit.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Got it and it works fine.
But i have now found why i was having problems.
Originally the problems i was having:
Screen would go blank when pressing certain buttons
sometimes fuzzy screen
loading maps message quite often that would never end
some kinda message along the lines of loading info that would never go off
So i assumed it was the corrupt SD card issues.
i got the USB cable to backup the original card, but couldn't follow the process through as the screen kept going blank at the times i needed to follow the process.
I had no option but to install the new SD card without the backup. That all went to plan, except on my RT6 i had to remove to extra screws to remove the facia.
Got the latest firmware CD from the dealer, and that installed fine.
But still had the same problems.
Playing around with Diagbox, i managed to fix them. i always had a problem with changing parameters on the head unit, kept saying "ECU Locked" So always thought i didn't have the correct configuration for the updated head unit.
But i found that if i went in through another route, i think it was customer delivery, it would take the config changes i was trying to make.
I lost track of what changes i made, but all the previous issues went away.
But new ones have appeared, that i will try and work through.
It now powers off after about 20 seconds with an error message. If the ignition is on, engine running or not, it's fine.
The bumper sensors seem more sensitive and sound different, and the maps seem more "old fashioned"
I am not sure if the maps i had installed were newer than the ones i have just put on, so i want to instal the latest and see if they look any better.

It's hard to know what's what without knowing what configuration changes you made Mike. Some settings may not be applicable to this vehicle / Head Unit, so can have undesirable effects. See how things go after you reinstall your maps.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi
I want to thank this topic.
With the tutorial it was possible to repair my radio RT6 (Citroen C5 X7)
I'm glad I did the mirascript step, as I had to reset the settings at the end.
I draw attention to the loss of GPS mapping, not that it is difficult to resolve.

Thanks for the update, glad you have given your system a new lease of life. Reinstalling your map updates should fix the mapping issue, but also, it can take some time (driving) for the satellites to lock on after an upgrade like this.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Right. After a few days of hit and miss and then hit again with Diagbox, i have everything working on my 308cc RT6 Retro fit. Nearly
The one thing left is that the RT6 unit doesn't seem to communicate with the screen between the clocks,(rvc counter/speedo).
Before i used to get nav turns shown and was able to set to MPH on the trip and mileage. I can choose MPH on the RT6 unit, and this shows on the map screen, but not anywhere else.
I have spent hours going through the different options in Diagbox, but none seem to affect the outcome .
Also, there doesn't seem to be as many config options with the RT6 unit/screen as there used to be.
I have added a few photos.
Is everyone else still have theses options?
Ta Mike

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Your issue will be related to the instrument panel ECU - specifically the LCD or Matrix screen. These need to be calibrated to accept NAV info IIRC - but I can't advise what the setting is and where. Some people I know had to change a certain value in an obscure field to get the display to show NAV instructions - it wasn't obvious too. Most people don't have to change anything when replacing the RT6 with an RT6, it's only where they had a different telematics unit (RNEG) or no telematics unit prior to the upgrade that this was an issue.
I've just recalled now it was a chap who was upgrading his non telematics to an RT6 on a C5 X7. He had the 'zone not mapped' issue on the instrument display. He fixed it using Mirascripts, (version specifically for the RT6 only). He states "The parameter is 1.9.146. and it can be within 0-4 range, the setting that worked for me was 3 (2 was almost working, with no street names displayed)."
https://mira308sw.altervista.org/en/index.htm
I can't help you with this off course, but you may want to live without it. It is risky so make sure you know what you're doing as this can directly alter the RT6's configuration.
Whether your screen will even support this feature I can't say either, and may of required a later or different display.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi,
It seems i have similar issue with my RT6 on DS5-2013. Sometimes it loads real slowly or sometimes it fails to load at al. Occasionally get message "check in progress" or " insert navigation cd".
I would like to try and change sd card, I have already used mirascripts on it to extract user data, and now I would like to get firmware if possible. Current version is RNEG2.75.c.5 i would like to try closest revision as to not get into too much trouble. If it fails i would like to try latest revision. I would appreciate if I could get links to these firmware versions.
Best regards

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi can I ask a few questions on replacing the SD card? Currently my system still works, but will occasionally come up with the message loading CD is there a chance that this card will clone or is the data likely to be corrupt?
I have already taken a copy of my user data with mirascripts, if I do have reload the firmware what is the best version to get? It currently has RNEG2.75.C.5
Thanks

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
The Internal MicroSD Card is likely to have started to fail (Nand memory cells at end of life). Good that you have taken a copy of the user files - keep those safe somewhere on your PC.
If this is your RCZ, we are talking about, then you have a CAN2004 Architecture. My info suggests you should update to version 2.80 (not 2.86) as this should upgrade without the need for any dealer configuration.
I have this firmware version if you require it. Let me know, then follow this guide for a more successful upgrade, but obviously ignoring the references to the file sizes or version 2.86.
Official RT6 Firmware Upgrade Instructions.
On the likelihood you will need the V2.80 firmware, I will send you a link via private message.
