NewcastleFalcon wrote: 04 Oct 2024, 12:23 Well I enjoy doing these but lets see if we can get more than one participant.

Make a 6 letter word from these 7 letters other than the obvious "thrift"

A former Word of the Day indeed. How did you do? (don't report the word you know if you have got it)

We have our one participant. Thanks Mick :-D Do we have more :?:

I took my Clarinet lessons in Chorleywood during the 60's! That explains why I was always impressed when my talents rose!! :-D

My word for the 'Cobblers' that's the polite version.
Windscreen wiper not going home and pulsing again, Flicked the ball joints off the spindle arms and the drivers side is solid. Surprised it hasn't blown a fuse or killed the motor. Anyway, after 2 hours persuading the spindle out, cleaned everything up, go to put it back together and can't work out where this bugger goes.

There's only one recess in the spindle which I'm sure the C clip goes in, or maybe it doesn't. Spent another hour trying to work out where I've cocked up....no no avail.
So word for the day

The google sky map app found Arcturus very easily.. and the shiny thing next to the Moon was indeed Saturn this evening, although my first guess would have been Venus :-D

Assuming any 'board' that isn't a flat piece of wood counts how about:
Board of Directors
Board of Governers
Promotion board
Bored of thinking about it! :-D
