I used to use one of those as my daily drives in the winter doing coast protection work. Used to have great fun doing 180° power slides along the prom :-D

Slight dusting, not really of sufficient proportions to wake up Gibbo's thread from its spring/summer hibernation so I've shoved the artwork here

Almost time to wake Gibbo's thread up, first flakes today in flurries, but too damp to settle just yet, and too ethereal to get a decent photo on the camera.

April 11th 2021 saw the last writeable snow on the bonnet 230 days ago (inc today)

Sunny most of the day here but some slush at the bottom of the windscreen this evening.

The white stuff is on its way, but quite a wind and rainstorm overnight and still ongoing. Lots of trees down and hopefully a near miss for the Leaf. A sizeable heavy bough of a tree broke off but all that caught the car was the lighter tail end strewn across the bonnet. I think the bug eye, probably expensive, headlight just survived.

Force 10 from Navarone here. Been recovering garden things and chasing the bins. The greenhouse has gone twice, power cut all night and so battening down the hatches. I doo hope the car has remained relatively unscathed Neil.

Same here Marc, the weather rarely worries me but I had visions of my roof and solar panels ending up in the next street in the night, all's good though, a bit of sleet in the air this morning but sunny now.

And here. No snow and like you I was expecting no roof and no solar panels. At least they are insured for £2,000,000! Been out picking up bits of roof tiles but no real damage.
Most of the wheelie bins up the street have been swept away.

Sorry to read that Peter. Out of interest is your generator permanently connected to the system and therefore starts when it detects a loss of supply, or is it a manual start and plug the essentials into it? :)

Thanks Mick/Marc nothing that I'm bothered about one small mark. Good job it was the thin end of the branch. The thick end weighs a ton.

Here's the thick end of the branch, too heavy to lift and came down from about 20 ft up the tree.

12 hours without electricity today, no water either due to the treatment works having no electricity. No mobile coverage on any network, felt like a trip back to the 1800's, hopefully its sorted now. :-D
