Re: Ds7 opinions

I average about 40mpg on my work commute from St. Helens to S. Manchester on a Puretech 225 DS 7 Crossback. Eco mode. My gf gets around 35 thought taking the dog on 30 minute drives. I am on a trip around N. Europe currently, so far (4000 miles) I have averaged 43mpg. It varies a lot with motorway speed. In the 130-140kph countries I average around 39, in the 110-120kph countries it goes to 42-43 and I forgot which very long stretch I did (possibly Latvia) which was 90kph "motorways" and that gave 49mpg, I did over 600 miles on that tank of gas!

Hi kirkjames1, my average mpg since Feb is 32.7 over 689 miles. I imagine with the car being new to us we have, as you do, treat it like a new toy and used it a little more than usual, sitting with the engine running, setting things, learning not to be heavy footed like in our old car. And, hands up, I havent tried eco yet 😒. Best run was about 90 miles sitting at 60-70 mph returning 45mpg according to myds app. I Don't suppose you know how to set the reverse door mirror dip angles do you? Mine dip but not enough, I have asked on another post but still don't know how. Thanks for your reply.

No idea about the door mirror dip angle, I always assumed it's just a fix diff from what you set as your regular angle. Eco mode mainly makes the throttle pedal "soft" so you can ease into it. In general, accelerating slowly and keeping your distance so you don't hit brakes all the time make a difference. I just returned from my trip, got 42.7 average (long stretches on motorways, some limited city driving). I was not pushing it, petrol is expensive!

That's a thought kirkjames about the fixed difference in mirror angles, first thing I will try is dipping more and setting the memory to a lower angle then try reverse (never thought to try that!). I get my mpg readings from the myds app and it's usually around 33, not been on a good run recently, but it did have an odd reading of 55 for a 10 minute trip, if only!

Update, well.... disappointed after getting in touch with Stellantis concerning active scan suspension, I don't have it despite the ds dealer saying it had. It is on 20" wheels but Opera trim and by all accounts I've read should have it, but no. I've asked the dealer to recheck, probably get nowhere or even some form of gesture. Already regretting this car.

Also turns out the mirrors dip a pre-set angle depending on your original angle, so if you set the normal angle down a bit , the dip follows suit and it also moves down a bit. I also don't have the colour settings for the ambient lights, just plain white. The Opera spec is a proper let down so far..Sigh!

Now I'm told my car has active scan.... ! . If anyone considers buying one in future, especially with 20" wheels, mind that the ride will feel no different in comfort mode if it has active scan suspension. Stellantis however have been very good in keeping me updated and very transparent throughout. Thanks kirkjames for helping with the mirror question.

I have active scan supposedly, but I am not sure I can feel any difference in Comfort, so I mostly use Eco.

Hi kirkjames1, do you have the 20" tokyo wheels too? I will at some point put all season Pirelli Scorpions on. At the moment on Goodyear Eagle F1's. They are a summer tyre, feel hard to the touch too, very rumbly, mind you the handling is great, hope not to lose that on replacement.

No. I checked tyre prices before getting it and avoided the 20" due to the ridiculous cost of the tyres. So it's 19". I don't use summer tyres apart from when I go to road trips in southern Europe. Goodyear vector 4-seasons currently. If I cared more about the handling I guess I would not have gotten an SUV in the first place ;)
