Re: C5 firmware
I really wouldn't go to the very latest firmware first. I mentioned above about upgrading to larger capacity SD card (or alter the partitioning on the existing SD card as I did) and this is necessary because the maps and successive firmware updates take up more space on the SD card. Just go to 5.4.B.R6 first and see if this fixes your glitching problem. I doubt it will and the SD card needs changing. A worse possibility is that the soldered on memory chips in the SMEG+ are starting to fail - let's hope not.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Re: C5 firmware
I don't have any CD drive, so I'm not finding how to change the car's internal SD card. I can find a fast read/write 16 or 32GB SD card (not in an adapter) for very cheap tho.
Is there a possibility to erase/format the whole card? I see I have 1gb left out of 7.6gb which prevents installing all maps (6.9gb). But If everything is deleted beforehand then it should have enough space.

Ok so for the SD card replacement, I am also wondering where people even find that drive in the car ?

Re: C5 firmware
I know where it is in my 308, directly behind the centre console. But it does move around in different vehicles.
This might be it, visible at 1 minute 54 seconds in this video

Re: C5 firmware
Ok so the maps installed but indeed I didn't have enough space for all.
The firmware update wasn't triggered at all tho.
I appreciate the videos,, I'm more of a written guide myself.
I ordered a new SD 32gb card and will need guidance on what do to do after formatting.

Re: C5 firmware
I have to come with some updates.
So updating the maps was successful, but the same USB stick doesn't trigger the firmware update.
I put the SMEG PLUS UPG on the root folder and did the sysvol. inf removal.
Nothing happens even one minute after engine start

Re: C5 firmware
Is the procedure to swap SD cards also applicable to SMEG+ units, especially about the firmware CD or is there another way to install the SD card contents ?

Re: C5 firmware
Yes, it's basically the same although if you don't have a CD drive you are forced to use a USB drive. This would also be the ideal time to fit a larger 16GB card to cope with the extra space required for later firmware and maps. There is no equivalent to Mirascripts for the SMEGx range.

Re: C5 firmware
Be it to update the firmware or install the firmware onto a new SD card, I can't get the USB drive to be launched. The maps update was successful tho.
I don't know about the partitions and user settings on the old and new SD card

Re: C5 firmware
Sorry to be back with the issue, but I cannot trigger the firmware update. The maps update worked with the same USB drive.
Here's the USB drive contents and properties

Re: C5 firmware
Instead of putting the folder SMEG_PLUS_UPG and its contents onto the root of the USB stick try putting the contents there.
Also, does your vehicle have two USB sockets? It's only the main one that will work if you have two.

Re: C5 firmware
I use the same as the one for the maps, the right most one (LHD car). The maps worked fine, it's not complicated. So I'm very puzzled why it says now failure to read the disc

I don't understand. Can you repeat what happens, or doesn't happen, when you put the contents onto the root of the stick.
