So I think I may have found the root cause of the issue. Both the connector for the coolant pump and the lower o2 sensor are covered in oil. I’m hoping it’s just residual oil from a previous oil change but there may be a leak close by :( I managed to give them a quick clean but I need to wait until I can get underneath the car to see if I can get better access to the pump socket to clean it out as I can’t squeeze my spray can in from the engine bay. Fingers crossed a good clean will sort it out. Can you tell I trying my best to be optimistic :-D

That is an interesting route for oil to make its way to the ECU! For the coolant pump the leaks that could apply are from the engine cover gasket, vacuum pump and turbo oil supply. For the O2 sensor it could also be the oil filter housing. You could be busy for a while!

I know right :-D I know my engine cover casket needs replacing so hopefully it’s coming from there. I haven’t noticed anything from the turbo oil feed and I’ll check the vacuum pump too, thanks for the heads up mate. I did forget to put a rag below the oil filter housing when I did my last oil change and a decent amount of oil did drip out whilst I was having a cigarette break so it could also be that :-D

Just wanted to post a quick update here just in case anybody suffers the same issues as I did.

The service light flashing on and off with the accompanying codes turned out to be the turbo auxiliary coolant pump. What a pita it was to change! The lack of power I’m still experiencing didn’t turn out to be a limp mode like I thought so it looks like a boost leak which I’m still hunting down. Doesn’t help that it’s not throwing up any fault codes !

Hi folks,
I have the P2600 fault on 2013 DS3 1.6 thp 150. I replaced the turbo coolant pump with a new pierburg version. The P2600 fault stayed cleared for a month and then reappeared. New pump had failed! I replaced with Chinese copy while waiting for the pierburg to be returned for warranty test and replacement. Fault stayed cleared for a week this time and then reappeared, but pump could be heard working this time. In case it was just an issue with the Chinese copy, I put the new pierburg in but the P2600 fault appeared again the next day. Getting really frustrated with this now.
Has anyone got a wiring diagram /schematic so I can check out the ecu connector and possible wiring damage? Anyone come up with this before, really hoping not an ecu fault.....

Here's the fault descriptor, and note that the suspect is not the pump, but the Electrical Harness or the engine ECU, as the issue is a short circuit.
Fault Code: P2600
Description of Fault: (Electric) turbo additional coolant pump control fault: Short circuit to positive. Short-circuit to positive on the power stage of the electric coolant pump for cooling of the turbocharger for more than 0,5 s.

Conditions of activation of the diagnostics - The following conditions have to be met:
- Engine management ECU in main triggering phase
- Battery voltage between 9 and 15 V
- Engine running
- Power relay jammed for more than 2 seconds
Conditions for Fault to clear: No fault codes found: P2600 - P2601 - P2603 (For 1 second)
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: -
Symptoms:
  • The coolant pump for cooling of the turbocharger is always active
Suspect Areas:
  • Engine ECU
  • Electrical harness

Thanks strange as Diagbox reports open circuit for p2600 fault on the car...
Here is screen shot from earlier ( not the latest) I will runn again to see if it still says open circuit

Rechecked with diagbox 09.68 and it says P2600 open circuit. So which is correct?

Can anyone give me a wiring pinout of the ecu to check out the wiring harness for the turbo coolant pump?

The fault is the same - it's the short circuit that's the issue - so you need to check the connections and the wiring I would suggest. Replacing the pump won't necessarily fix the fault if it's on the circuit.

I'll have a look for a diagram, but I'll need your VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Here you go:

Main Injection Circuit. Your Turbo Coolant Pump is 1550 (bottom left).

Wires:

These are the wires and pins you need to check for short or open circuits from the coolant pump connector to the connection at the engine ECU shown by the pin assignments and numbers. Do not use wire colour codes as these may change en route:

1257: Exhaust gas recycling solenoid valve earth
1580: turbo cooling coolant pump supply
1581: turbo cooling coolant pump control

If wiring proves ok, any recommendations for ecu repair in UK?
