You can fit a winding of stiff wire opposite the worm gear to balance it if you get any vibration but I've only ever done that once in 20+ installs

Yes I've used worm drive jubilee type clips in the past. If you look around the ventilation world you will find very large ones that are designed for ventilation trunking on cooker hoods for example, they are 4-6" diameter and do the job very well, here is the chap around the 5 litre oil can for scale:

Update.
Too all those talking about spider silk as an option, I looked into it, but very time consuming!!

Thanks also to the heads up regarding the Ducting Clamp,
The car has been off the road for a few days, as on a recent trip to Scotland I rubbed the Left lower front corner of the bump along an immovable boulder
had have had to repaint the lower edge of the bumper, this is when I discovered the CV boot problem.
Anyway, when looking for my paint polisher I found a box of 8 large CV boot Bands (Laser type) that I must have bought a while back and forgotten about.
so I used one of those.
Hopefully I will still have 7 CV boot Bands in a few years!!
I think I need to write a stock inventory of everything I have in my Garage & Shed ................
