I thought as much; these V6 jobbies have a lot more crammed in, but just a thought.

If front bumper removal is possible (with bonnet shut), that does look like the complete way in.

I also never updated this thread with my success story unfortunately - went looking for this thread, after reading someone else needing to get under the bonnet of their Xantia today.

I don’t have any pics unfortunately, but what I described above, is exactly what I did and it was fiddly, took some patience, but worked with no damage done! I think I used a wire coat hanger (or similar stiff but slightly slimmer wire).

Long shot suggestion. I have found Facom Dégrippant-Lubrifiant very effective and quick, and it is foaming when sprayed out of the aerosol tube. So if you can get a can, it may be possible to you work out an access point to saturate the latch area.
