I knew the XM must surely be enthusiast owned with a plate like that! We've now 'met' on Autoshite but for those not on there, I was on a bit if a mega-mile mission in my poor, dishevelled 2CV. Had to make sure she hit 200,000 miles before her MOT is up next month, so decided to take her to Sussex for the weekend to see family. She clocked up her 200,000th mile this afternoon on the way back.

Fake's XM is truly lovely in black. Did amuse me given that I've got a white XM myself. Ebony and ivory...

First I'll own up that I didn't choose the plate, it was already on the car, in fact I don't really like private plates usually, but I suppose this is sort of neat really! I found out who you were as someone posted a link to your Bookface page on yet another forum. I have to say that I love the XM in light colours, white in particular, as the whole glass area becomes a black wedge shape. Next time you come to Sussex, bring the XM and let me know!

Never knew that it started out as a V8 Mike...

Jim how could you not know... all v8s are 90 and v6 60 deg ... they had gone too far into the prv project to start again when france introduced the tax laws for engine sizes. It also had an odd fire order initiallly then by the 80s it went even.

It would have to be an excellent example with good history and with no signs of rust in the sills to be worth that (it might be, you have not given us much detail to go on). XM prices might have levelled out, but there is not enough demand for them at the moment for prices to go up.
