The pins on the round connector are actually numbered on the plug but the method of counting them is a little ambiguous so I thought it best to take a photo and show the pin numbers as I interpreted them:
Here are the pinouts referring to the above picture and the 30 pin rectangular connector on my previous post:
30 pin rectangular PSA / 30 pin round connector / Function
A1 / 5 / +12 volts
A2 / 22 / Switched (?) +12 volts
A3 / 3 and 4 / Chassis Ground
C1 / 25 / Engine ECU K-line
C2 / 12 / Engine ECU L-line (?)
D2 / 2 / GMV2 test (?)
E1 / 8 / K-line ABS
E2 / 14 / K-line Clearance adjustment (Hydractive 2 ?)
E3 / 7 / K-line Steering wheel module
F1 / 26 / K-line Heater / Aircon
F3 / 1 / K-line Air Bag
G1 / 11 / K-line Gearbox ECU
H3 / 6 / K-line Door lock
I1 / 30 / K-line Rear view mirror
I2 / 27 / K-line Anti-theft alarm
I3 / 30 / K-line Immobiliser
Hope this helps.![]()
And here is my adaptor:

After days of struggle I finally got it working thanks to your pinout diagrams!
The first time I saw this I didn't realise there was a page 2 on it, and it beeing from 2014 I didn't wanna write anything in here but now that you've updated it i'm gonna do it so maybe this can help somebody.
I had the 30pin to OBD 2 adapter ordered from E-bay years ago and it never worked. Looking at your schemes I realised that there were no pins where they were supposed to be for eg. A2 (ignition +12V) C1 and C2 (CAN ECU lines) were missing on the adapter. So I disassemled mine and started reassembling it back up as it should be. Finished, tested and it didn't work. Then i realised, after i saw your last post that I mirrored the OBD2 connector, actually I looked up some pinout diagrams online and thought they were meant to be for the on car side of the connector but they were not... Long story short, I didn't fry anything (luckily) and I have the adapter working now after looking at your updated pictures!

I'd love to know HOW you got into the 30 pin connector on the brown end.
I have an issue reading airbag and aircon ECU on S2 Xantia so I thought I'll check S1 1.9TD for airbags and ABS. ABS reads - Airbags do not.
I really want to get that tested because S2 could possibly be a configuration issue but I am told that if faults have lit up on the dashboard on the S2 then the airbag ECU must be communicating. I am not sure that is true because in the S1 the airbag ECU is a stand-alone system with no engine ECU to reference it. I imagine this is the same in the S2 although perhaps with some added complication.
I have all the wiring diagrams and the S2 wiring diagram doesn't show any connection back to the Engine ECU so it MUST be stand-alone too!
