It must be working then like you say. I was looking at exclusive trim, I like the xenons but not sure about the fake wood trim, I prefer the silver sx dash

The Xexons were one of the main reason for going for a C5 Exclusive the only other car in my price range at the time with standard Xexons was a Laguna and that was a no go.

The wood does not look to bad I like it, I would go exclusive if one pops up at the right price. The tyre pressure sensors and folding mirrors are a great extra, not sure what else is on the Exc over SX, poss twin sun visors with lights, puddle lights, reverse sensors, elec leather (on most), auto dimming mirror, mud flaps, 16" wheels and there maybe more.

Keep us informed look forward to seeing your choice.

I will let you all know in good time what I've decided on. Most of the sub 2k exclusive diesel cars seem to be 2.2s, so ill see what I get

I would expect any early Exclusive that had tyre pressure sensors to now have non working pressure sensors, the sensors have potted batterys which will be flat by now, unless the sensors have been replaces which I feel is unlikely in the majority of cases.

Mine work fine had a leaking valve in one for ages and was warned when at 26 psi. Valve now cleaned and all good, seen them for sale for approx £40.

Do all C5 exclusives (I'm really thinking here of the earlier S1 models) have these tyre pressure sensors, and is it these that are now included as part of the recent/proposed MoT changes?

Not sure if all S1 exclusives had them, might only have been the SE variant as far as I know the TP sensors and the MOT only apply to cars manufactured after the date at which TP sensors were mandated to be compulsory on all new cars. Be aware that S2 cars had a different sensor which doesn't have a built in battery and uses a different system in the car for communicating with them.

From the page ive found on the net id say that the tyre monitoring system wont be covered. only on newer cars will it come into play at mot time
This is what it says:

Tyres
Tyre pressure monitoring systems fitted to vehicles first registered after 1 January 2012 must be working correctly and not indicating a malfunction.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitoring

To Cachaciero, and CJUK81:-

Thanks for the information guys. What you say as regards implementation dates sounds reasonable. Just asked in case I one day end up with a S1 C5 Exclusive

It seems there's a significant increase in tyre prices if you have 16", rather than 15", diameter wheels
