Dave, as Jim says, check everything else first. If you're electrovalves are buzzing and clicking I think its likely the VN05Ns are ok.

Maplin do not do the VN05Ns. If you need a couple RS electronics is where I got mine. I do have 2 left if you want though.

Are 1n4001 diodes ok for the diode mod, i just happen to have 98 of them kicking about....

Just been outside, and the electrovalves do click on when the door opens and click again about 30secs after the door is closed.
So that rules the electrovalves out!
Maybe its the sphere then!

After doing hte diode mod with 1n4001s, the car seems to be able to go over the bumbs ok again.
It still crashes over some, but i believe the diode mod must have done something, it now rides ok again!
So if i replace the sphere she should be floating!
