first car I ever drove, mk 4 Cortina V6 in gold automatic, what a comfortable ride. And no I wasn't old enough to drive but a private airfield with land owners permission, great fun.

(it is an original photo, and it captures an AA badge so an extract well qualifies for the all things AA current dalliance over on the AA box thread!)

The Morris Minor is one of those odd survivors in the category where they engender such affection amongst the faithful that all and every part is easily available to maintain them and keep them going indefinitely.

Similarly the 2CV. Had a lovely conversation with the couple from Belgium about their "Old-Timer". I suspect they were a little surprised that I could decode their number plate, and talk at least with some semblance of knowledge, thanks mainly to a little trivia delve on the trivia investigation team thread the other day.

Not quite as onerous as the German Old-timer rules and regs, but the Belgian regs still require a test every 2 Years, and those headlights appear to be the 2CV's Achille's heel when it comes to test-time.

I have been noticing the complete lack of them (AA Badges) in the general 2023 Motoring community on the roads and car parks of the United Kingdom. The AA patrolmen of the past, and their polite saluting of AA members would be impossible in 2020's Great Britain!

I have attempted to prime FCF members to notice what would appear to be even rarer in situ on motor cars, the rectangular badge :-D Plenty points on offer here, but it must be an original in situ as nature intended on the grill of a motor vehicle... viewtopic.php?p=760420#p760420

Are they rectangular or square? I'm hoping to spot an old Volvo they always seem to have a badge on the grill

Spotted during my morning run today... Love the shade of blue - a toss-up to know whether or not to post this picture here or in the colours thread...

An unassuming little classic and a late arrival at the show after many had gone! Still the owner was regularly engaged in chat by the interested spectators. Can you get the hydrolastic bits still though? I'm sure there are ways and means for those in the know :-D

That's lovely Neil... Always a soft spot for an ADO16 :) I had one once...

Yes, hydrolastic not a problem. I believe there's a company that specialises in rebuilding displacer units... Often, the biggest problem is the pipes between them rusting and leaking...
