Example, new drop links purchased and popped on the car when they arrived , 6 months later , rubber dust covers cracked and looking like they were 15 years old
Husky. :? Thinking outside of the box is better than sitting in a dark one.

I don't know what's going on but you are correct "they don't make rubber like they used to" very odd!
I too have seen supposedly new stuff perished in short order!

Busy, nah!

500kg of soil shifted today.

How do I know it's 500kg?

I measured it!

Why bother weighing?

Because last time this trailer was "filled with soil" I seriously underestimated how dense the clay soil is (and retrospective calc suggested it was over a tonne  )

The trailer's frame, since replaced, did not take kindly to that treatment!

Well done for weighing the soil , and yes soil can be deceiving. A hole dug 3 x 3 x 3 would only take just under half to fill it back up , nice weight set up there

Ha ha, well to be honest it's ex-farmer's trailer and I'm pretty sure it's having a relatively easy life with me!
I bought it relatively cheaply off eBay and on pickup noticed how they'd managed to put a curve in it's 50x50mm box section axle beam!

It's on a second life really - it was described as "sat in the corner of the field and the (rotten!) floor stayed put when he dragged it out with the tractor" !! :) look closely here:
viewtopic.php?p=785097&hilit=Trailer#p785097
Looks much more of a curve in the flesh!

(Beam replaced after my err overload issue)

Trailer now again emptied of soil / mud **

In a word: knackered!

** We'd plenty of rain mid afternoon onwards yesterday and more overnight. Despite tarpaulins over the trailer contents they'd took on some water. Quite muddy in several of the buckets and bottom of the trailer too!

Narrower!

Seems the fun I had when I got these wishbones:
viewtopic.php?p=808583#p808583
And in detail, here:
viewtopic.php?p=808586#p808586
Was nothing to do with the wishbones, or rather the only difference is the bolted on bottom ball joint is the length difference!

Few pictures, will add waffle tomorrow:

Arch liner.
Existing item, hot stapled but failed again. Too brittle
Existing item, hot stapled but failed again. Too brittle
New liner, Autodoc. About £25. Not sure how durable it'll prove to be. Definitely more pliable than the ten year old brittle item it's replacing but very thin.
Original has a fabric acoustic mud collector fasten to it, no provision to mount that in the new but will live without it.
Need to transfer the fixings across (well, ideally source new ones but that's for another day)
New and old
