The blower vent wire fails leaving the blower only blowing air straight out meaning you can't direct it at the windscreen. Horrible to replace. The front wiper motor slows down, nearly to a stop, a new motor is the only fix. They have decent, willing little engines and roomy interiors. There are many worse cars about.
And many better ones!
Thanks for the pointers on the faults though. I haven't tried either of those, in fact I just had a quick drive and look under the bonnet. There's only something like 58k on this one.
The interior in your Scenic is the same as in ours which I do like. Regarding the clock bulbs, do you have to take much of the dash apart? As I need to do ours.
The TDC sensor is cheap and easy enough to do. I cleaned ours and it cured the problem for about 6 months, then the problem came back worse than ever. The new one was about £35, only trouble is Renault changed the connector for it so now when purchasing the new sensor you also get the connector with wire on to solder into your loom. That was annoying
Great, thanks for that, it seems every Renault owner comes across this problem at some stage. I tried looking for our TDC sensor yesterday, but because it's auto, it's not in the same position as a manual car, and I can't find it. The bulb job is
really easy. It looks like the display is buried below tonnes of trim, but its not.
Prise off the speaker grilles at the bottom of the A Pillars. There's a screw to undo under each of these.
There are three plastic "discs" across the dashboard at the base of the windscreen. Prise these off and there's a screw under each of these.
Then literally just pull the dashboard upwards and towards you - it's held in by clips. That reveals the display, which is just held in by two more screws. Takes about 15 mins max. I think new bulbs can be bought from Halfords. I just took some out of the instrument panel from the Clio I just scrapped. Makes a big difference

French is best.
